Depends on the job. My availability is mostly dependent on what I'm doing or if I have meetings that day. If the meetings are important or I need to be on thet network, I will go to work.
------- I've got spurs that jingle jangle jingle. As I go riding merrily along. And they sing, "Oh, ain't you glad you're single?" And that song ain't so very far from wrong.

I can change my weekly, but that's because it's retail and we get a different schedule every week.

When I worked retail, I made good friends with the schedule manager, and I got a set schedule, M-F with weekends off. I'm actually a fan of strict schedules.. Jenny, do you like changing ones? Or is that just what you have to live with?

One of the managers I work with has a set schedule (she chose to, because she goes to school). I could do with as well. I like variety at the moment, but I used to request a set schedule. My boyfriend's schedule varies right now, so when he gets more of a set one I'd prefer that as well. Right now, I tend to change my own schedule though, because my boyfriend (as mentioned) gets random days off, and I've been taking a dance class, or having errands, so I will need a specfic day off or a certain shift every week. So, basically, I make my own schedule, so I choose for it to be different weekly, based on my needs. Post edited at 3:49 pm on Aug. 21, 2008 by JennyColada

Jenny how does working in retail support you in California? I mean well or just okay. The reason I ask is because I have experiance in retail and we're moving to cali in two years. I want my son to go to a good school and I literally cannot find a job here in ohio. I heard there were alot of jobs in California and I'm from Vegas and my fiance is from Los Angeles. So it's familiar and we have some contacts out there.
------- I couldn't think of anything else.

It does me well enough, but retail in general doesn't pay fabulously. I'm a manager, and make probably just enough to support myself. Although, I'm a bit fickle with money, and can afford my terrible shopping habit pretty comfortably. That being said, I don't plan on being a floor manager forever, I'd love to move up to being a field or district manager, and I would most likely get a six figure income from the later eventually. Being in Southern California there are also a ton of shops, so you can easily find a few places accepting applications in a few cities if you don't mind driving a bit. Between the malls, the beach stores, Melrose, etc. there is quite a bit of opportunity, but that doesn't even mean that you'll find what you want and get paid what you need.
