Websites are not always true or reliable resources. I think I would take a doctors advice over your's or any stupid website. People have been drinking milk for many many many years and it has not been a "SERIOUS HEALTH RISK" or whatever you said. If its done in moderation, then it is fine... obvoiusly if you are one who is constantly drinking whole milk, eating lots of ice cream and such, then duh, you will not be healthy. But at least I know what food actually tastes good and can enjoy my life and not be so fricking paranoid about "the bad things that are going into my body.. OMG THEY ARE KILLING ME!" people like that make me sick. Yes.. that means you make me sick. Sorry. Thats it. :) Have a good day.
I only cite research from peer-reviewed journals, not websites. If you would like to believe a statement about two doctors disagreeing with me, spoken from a young girl who heard it from her mother, then be my guest. Personally I think it's either rubbish or some greatly misinformed doctors. What I said earlier applies to you as well. If your own doctor disagrees with me, then tell me which points he disagrees with and I will provide you with citations that you can take to a medical library, research center, hospital or whatever and lookup the research yourself. As for milk posing a serious health risk, I stand by this statement and the scientific evidence supports this claim as well. It's been well documented that dairy consumption can be the cause of many problems such as type I diabetes, colic, intestinal bleeding, anemia, allergies, bed wetting, heart disease, arthritis, osteoporosis, viral infections and many types of cancer. Also a cause for concern is the many types of contaminants and microbes found in dairy products such as exposure to salmonella, bovine leukemia virus and bovine A.I.D.S. Not to mention the majority of people on this planet do not consume dairy products because it makes them ill to do so. Your ignorance of the topic does not prove your point; it only means that you have a lot of reading to do if you insist on arguing this. As for you knowing what food tastes good, it sounds like you are implying that healthy food tastes bad. A healthy diet can include foods like spaghetti and marinara sauce, mu shu vegetables, bean burritos, baked potatoes, vegetable stir fry, vegetarian chili, lentil stew, black bean soft tacos, pancakes, hash brown potatoes, no-cheese pizza, enchiladas, vegetable soups, sandwiches, casseroles, vegetable sushi and of course salads. Eating healthy is easy and delicious, so I don't see it as being a difficult task. Personally, I think cheese smells like old feet. ewww... Maybe you are sick because you eat food that smells like feet. I'm not paranoid, just educated. You talk about enjoying life; well I enjoy mine too. I will also enjoy a better quality of life because I take care of myself.

I eat everything you listed along with some dairy products and I dont care if you call it ignorance or whatever because I have NEVER heard of Dairy being the cause of cancer.
Ignorance is (by definition), the lack of knowledge or education. The scientific evidence overwhelmingly shows milks link to diseases including cancer. These are facts that you had no knowledge of, which makes you ignorant on this topic. Not that it's your fault; the dairy industry spends about $166 million annually to misinform the public. And if you are so smart with all this information about this, why are you not a doctor or something?
Because I haven't graduated yet, but soon I will be Dr. Nolamite. My knowledge was not attained for arguing with people on public forums, but for the benefit of my future patients. Quote: from Scrat101 at 7:21 pm on Nov. 27, 2005
Im not saying you are wrong, I just dont believe in a lot of the points you made. I do believe that milk is good for you, and I do believe the points where it could be a cause for concern, but I think the benifits outweigh the concerns on this matter quite frankly.
Unless you're a calve, there is no benefit to consuming dairy products. On the other hand, the health risks involved with dairy consumption are too great to ignore and too significant to recommend its consumption. I'll tell you what, why don't you list all of the reasons why you believe dairy is healthy, and I'll respond to each of them WITH citations. If you want, you can take my responses to your doctor or nutrition teacher so they can show you that I'm not making any of it up.

Peer reviewed? How is that any kind of valid source? Why haven't you backed up any of your claims with citations? The fact of the matter is that no one here is right...and no one here is wrong. Research on this subject is still going strong and for whatever source you might find that cites dairy and meat being bad for, another source can be found which states the opposite. That is the only fact here.

I understand this is an old topic, but I'd just like to throw in my two cents. I was raised drinking milk, and eating common dairy products such as cheese and yogurt. Every night at dinner I have one serving of meat. My parents, who raised me on this tradition, grew up the same way, and they're still alive and not living in a hospital room. Who cares if they may be a tad overweight, and have slightly high blood pressure and cholesterol. They get their excersize at the nearby GoodLife fitness centre, and our friends and family love them all the same. It's wonderful that you (Nolamite) care so greatly about your health that you limit yourself to organics, but few people are intersted in vegan lifestyles, and most of us are well enough, with a bit of daily excersize and moderate servings. You act as though you're trying to force the world to conform to these new ideas. I don't care if that's what you intended, but this seems to be what you are implying. I don't care how many scientists and nutritionists did their homework. I for one refuse to cut out the foods I grew up on, and I refuse to teach my children to do so. Sorry, but your research just won't cut it. So for next time, may I suggest you create a new topic instead of arguing so deeply, because this topic was based on Artistic Drain's idea of healthy eating; not yours. She even tried several times to end the arguement peacefully, but you persisted. It really is frustrating to have an opinion to share in accordance to the original poster's topic, when everyone is focussed so heavily on such a debate. Your posts are redundant; you keep stating the same things over and over, yet you don't seem to realize that none of us give a damn. Go elsewhere and post about your healthy eating ideas, so poeple who agree with you can post their ideas. Think about it; we're tired of you now, the people you are arguing with are fed up with you. You are not making friends in this thread.

THEY TELL PEOPLE WHO HAVE CANCER TO DRINK LOTS OF MILK U IGNORANT THINK U KNOW IT ALL!!! Milk builds up bone density. I know this for a fact because my mother started having backpain and the first thing the doctor asked her was if she had a lot of dairy as a child. She hadnt because she didnt like it. She has now had to have 4 surgeries becasue her bones dont have a real heavy density which is why doctors tell people to drink plenty of milk. And someone made the comment that their are a lot of people that are lactoseantolerant and because milk is so important for you they have now come out with milk for lactose people.

I love your facts etc... but if I went by "serving size" like these dieticians whatever say you need to go by, then I would be starving half to death all the time. I am sorry, but when I eat a steak, I am not gonna only eat 3 or 4 oz of it, I am gonna eat the whole damn thing! lol And when I eat a bowl of cereal, I noticed it only says to eat half a cup of cereal, PLEASEEEEE I eat like 2 bowls every morning. These serving sizes on these boxes etc... are like the serving sizes for infants and toddlers, not for people my age, I would always be hungry.
