I've been anorexic for some time now...

Probably about 3 years now...off and on, but it really hit hard about a year ago, and I'm finally to the point now I can eat without going and purging afterwards!

Now I've noticed that a couple of my teeth hurt me in the back of my mouth. I brush my teeth every morning, and night. I was jw if maybe if all the purging could've had something to do with this.

Bulimia is binging and then going to purge. I didn't binge...it was just whenever I got food in my stomach I couldn't handle it so I threw it up.

That sounds like bulimia.

The acid from your stomach from throwing up is eating away your enamel on your teeth. Making them very sensitive and sore.

Yes. stomach acid can cause alot of tooth damage for people that purge. Very common. Probably need some fillings.

Bulimia is when you binge and then purge. I never binged. There is a type of purging anorexia.

It could be from your purging, but it could also be totally unrelated to your eating disorder and just be general decay.

People need to understand the difference between bulimia and simply purging.  Bulimia is binging and then purging through means of vomiting, laxatives, diuretics etc.  What you had, I'm assuming, is a purging disorder.  But I'm sure you already know that.  As for your tooth ache, sometimes we all get tooth aches that's why dentists visits should be regular (twice a year).  It COULD be because of your purging, as the acids have hit your teeth, but it may not be.  Best bet would be to have a general check up and see if they spot any decay or cavities.  Then you can go from there.

I agree. There is a differents. But I believe you have a purging disorder. Congratulations on your success. That is very hard to do. And to answer your question yes, you are rotting your teeth.
