Since when do you have to be a professional to legally assist someone who is feeling suicidal? Does it mean that someone who could help far more but does not have the supposed qualifications cannot assist as much as a professional who has no personal expierience?

This blind stupidity should be done away with.

Damage Done, do your research before you dish out your reprimands. This policy is here with perfectly good reason, go and have a look at the Announcements forums first page or two to see what I mean.

It's better that a suicidal teen gets provided with helpline numbers and told to use them, rather than this entire site being shut down as a result. LiveWire costs money to run, don't forget that. With the crippling consequences of a court case on his hands, there'd be no way David could keep the site up and running.
