In THIS specific example, we are talking about HOMOSEXUALS trying to force CHRISTIANS to accept them by using violent, intimidating behavior. My point is that HOMOSEXUALS, being a minority, cannot succeed in a battle of wills with the CHRISTIAN majority, so their only hope of victory is to sway enough CHRISTIANS over to their side to make their side the majority. I understood perfectly what you were insinuating, but don't you think that a lack of violence is preferrable, even if there were a few 'blessing in disguise' perks? You're a hypocrite. Acting like you know how old I am is patronizing too. I get what you are saying, but I think you don't understand the context in which I am saying what I am saying. I was never talking about the violence committed against homosexuals, until you brought it up. My original comment was saying the violence never helps the person committing it, so homosexuals are not helping themselves by lashing out at the Christian right. Then you came along and started talking about violence that was committed against homosexuals, so my reply was just that if you look at even that violence, it further supports my original point that violence is never the solution, and never helps your cause. Do we agree?

I think it is only fair to say that it falls into the same category as an old women holding a cross at a gay rally. Not that he deserved to be shot at all, but if you are going to excuse violent behavior by homosexuals because someone expressed their opinion to them, then you have to excuse this guy for reacting violently to a homosexual doing the same thing. (obviously in this case the violent reaction was much, much more serious, and just to be clear, I don't think anyone is excused for their actions in either of those situations).
